Books!

Oh, my love of books is probably my first great true love. Here is a list of the the ones I find myself most often recommending to others for their own growth, awareness, perspective.

The Way Out

By Alan Gordon and Alon Ziv

This one is almost required reading material if you suffer from any kind of chronic condition, pain, or illness. It lays the foundation for a lot of the coaching work I do with people.

Unlearn Your Pain

By Dr. Howard Schubiner

This book goes deeper into more of the science and statistics around neuroplastic/neural cirucut/mind-body syndrome. If you’re want more than what The Way Out has to offer, this is the next best step.

Deep Work

By Cal Newport

Simply brilliant for those of us who feel like we have too much to do in a short amount of time - this approach will help you to re-train your focus and feel more productive (ideally so then you can go do other fun, interesting, and frivolous things besides be more productive).

Slow Productivity

Also by Cal Newport

Once I finished and started implementing Cal’s approach to deep work, when I saw Slow Productivity it was like he was whispering a love song in my ear. So meaningful in a culture rife with burnout.

The Power of When

By Michael Breus, PhD

If you ever feel like you’re swimming upstream against a “typical” workday, or bedtime or rhythm of eating, this is a great book to pick-up. Illustrating 4 different chronotypes, this book will help you to find the right timing that fits for your life.

How the World Sees You

By Sally Hogshead

So many books are written to help illuminate how you move through the world, what makes you you. What I love about this book is flipping that around and illuminating how you come across to the world around you. *head explodes* Find your facination advantage, use it to help you brand and market your business, to understand what your friends see in you and how to play up your advantages on a date.

Pronoia - How the World is Conspiring to Shower You with Blessings

By Rob Brezny

If you haven’t yet listened to my audio snippet recordings of one section of this book, it’s a nice digestible way to get an introduction to Rob Brezny. He has writing style so unique and mesmerizing that it’s hard not to leave his work feeling better about life.
