Neuroplastic Pain Recovery · Health Not Hustle
Your brain learned
this pain.
It can unlearn it.
A two-part path from pain science education to deep nervous system re-education — for people who are done being told there's nothing left to try.
Sound familiar
You've tried everything.
Nothing has stuck.
If any of this resonates, you're not imagining things — and you're not broken. You might just be dealing with a nervous system problem, not a structural one.
You've been cleared by doctors — scans show "nothing serious" — but the pain is very, very real
You've tried every modality: PT, massage, chiro, injections, rest, more movement. Some things help briefly. Nothing lasts.
Your pain moves around, flares with stress, or seems completely unpredictable
You've quietly started to wonder if it's "in your head" — and then felt ashamed for thinking that
You've reorganized your life around the pain — canceling things, bracing, avoiding
Part of you has started to wonder if this is just who you are now
Here's what no one told you: Pain is not always about tissue damage. Your nervous system is a pattern-matching prediction machine — and sometimes it learns a pain pattern that outlives the original threat. That's not weakness. That's biology. And it's changeable.
The science
What neuroplastic pain actually is —
and why it matters
This isn't a fringe idea. It's supported by decades of research from neuroscientists, pain psychologists, and clinicians at major medical institutions — and it changes everything about how we approach chronic pain.
Pain is output, not input.
Your brain produces pain as a protective signal — not a damage report. It's an interpretation, not a readout. Which means the interpretation can change.
The nervous system learns.
When pain persists past the point of tissue healing, the brain has often created a sensitized pathway — a hair trigger. The body is healed. The alarm is still stuck on.
Fear makes it louder.
The more the brain perceives danger — from the pain itself, from stress, from bracing and avoidance — the stronger the signal. Safety, in all its forms, is the medicine.
The brain can rewire.
Neuroplasticity isn't motivational language. It's a clinical mechanism. The same neural pathways that learned pain can be trained toward safety. This is the entire premise of Pain Reprocessing Therapy — and it has clinical trial data behind it.
"Your anxiety, your avoidance, your overworking, your shutdown — none of it was failure. It was an incomplete arc of healing that needed more safety to finish."
The path
Two stages.
One coherent arc.
Most people come in wanting to skip straight to the deep work. And I get it — you've been in pain long enough. But the 4-week course isn't a prerequisite box to check. It's what makes the 12-week actually work.
Rewire Your Pain — The 4-Week Course
A self-paced foundation in pain neuroscience, nervous system basics, and the somatic practices that begin to shift the pattern.
What's included
- 4 weeks of pre-recorded video modules — pain science, nervous system education, fear-avoidance patterns, somatic tracking basics
- The Vitality Web Self-Assessment — a diagnostic map of which facets of your life are contributing to the pattern
- Guided somatic practices for each week: Kaiut-informed movement, breathwork, HeartMath coherence tools
- A workbook for tracking your observations, patterns, and what's beginning to shift
- Access to all course materials — no expiration, revisit any time
This course stands alone. You'll leave it with a working understanding of your own nervous system and a toolkit you can use independently. Many people find it sufficient. Others find it opens a door they want to walk through more fully — which is what Stage Two is for.
Enroll in the courseThe 12-Week Pain Recovery Container
Deep, individualized coaching through the full arc — from pattern recognition to nervous system regulation to the identity work that actually sticks.
What's included
- 6 live 1:1 coaching sessions (75 minutes each) — scheduled across 12 weeks at the rhythm that serves your nervous system best
- Full access to the Rewire Your Pain course (or credit applied if you've already completed it)
- Personalized Vitality Web diagnostic — we map your specific depletion pattern and design the arc around it
- Custom somatic and regulation practice plan — drawn from Kaiut yoga, HeartMath, somatic tracking, and breathwork based on your history and presentation
- Progress notes and session documentation — so you can track your own arc and not lose what you've built
- Voxer access between sessions for voice message check-ins, questions, and support when a flare hits and you need a reality check
- Exit assessment and a forward-arc plan — so you leave with a clear nervous system maintenance protocol, not just hope
A note on scope: This is coaching, not therapy or clinical treatment. I don't diagnose, prescribe, or treat medical conditions. I work with nervous systems, patterns, and the beliefs that keep pain loops running. You'll need a medical provider who has cleared you for this kind of work — and I'll support you in getting there if you're not already.
Applications are reviewed within 48 hours. If it's a fit, we'll schedule a 30-minute consult before you commit to anything.
How it unfolds
The 12-week arc —
week by week
This isn't a protocol. It's a map. Where you go within it depends entirely on your pattern, your history, and what your nervous system is actually ready for.
Foundation
Weeks 1–3. Pain science that actually makes sense of your experience. Building the safety message. Learning to observe sensation without catastrophizing it. Vitality Web baseline.
Mapping
Weeks 4–6. Identifying your specific triggers — physical, emotional, relational, environmental. Fear-avoidance patterns named. Polyvagal states recognized. Somatic tracking begins.
Regulation
Weeks 7–9. The toolkit goes active. Regulation practices integrated. Emotional undercurrents examined. Identity work: shifting from "person in pain" to "person whose nervous system learned this."
Integration
Weeks 10–12. Consolidating what's shifted. Building a sustainable practice. Flare protocols. Exit assessment. You leave knowing what to do when it gets loud again.
Right fit
Who this is — and isn't —
for
This is for you if
- ✓You've had a medical evaluation and been cleared — no undiagnosed structural issue that needs clinical treatment first
- ✓You're open to the idea that the brain and nervous system are involved in your pain — even if you're skeptical
- ✓Your pain has been present for months or years, or flares in patterns that don't map to activity or injury
- ✓You're ready to actually engage — not just consume information, but practice, observe, and show up for yourself
- ✓You want someone who will take your pain seriously AND challenge the story around it
This is not for you if
- —You have an undiagnosed or acutely progressing condition that needs medical attention first
- —You're in active crisis or need therapeutic support beyond what coaching can provide
- —You're looking for someone to validate the story that nothing will ever change
- —You're not currently able or willing to engage with somatic practices — this work requires some willingness to be in your body

I've been working with bodies in pain for over two decades. I've worked with people who'd been through every specialist, every modality, every injection and imaging series — and still couldn't find a framework that made sense of what they were experiencing.
When I found pain neuroscience — and specifically, the emerging clinical model around neuroplastic and centrally-sensitized pain — something clicked. Not just intellectually. In my own body.
The work I do now lives at the intersection of the science (Pain Reprocessing Therapy, polyvagal theory, somatic movement, HeartMath) and the philosophical framework I've built through Health Not Hustle: the idea that hustle is misalignment in motion — in work, in the body, in healing itself. Coping strategies that got stuck before completion. The body doing its best with the safety it had.
I'm not going to tell you this is easy. I am going to tell you it's based on real neuroscience, delivered by someone who takes your pain seriously and will not let you off the hook when it matters.
Questions
The things people actually want to know
No. This is coaching, which means I'm working with your nervous system, your patterns, and your relationship to pain — not diagnosing or treating a medical or psychological condition. I'm not a therapist and I won't do trauma processing work with you. If that's what you need, I'll say so and help you find the right person.
The distinction matters practically: coaching is forward-looking, skills-based, and works with your agency. Therapy goes deeper into clinical history. Both have their place. Many people benefit from both running in parallel.
Yes — I require that you've had a medical evaluation and that there's no active, undiagnosed structural issue requiring clinical treatment. This isn't bureaucratic box-checking. It's because pain coaching works best when you're not in the middle of something that needs a different kind of attention first.
If you're not sure where you are with that, let's talk it through in the application conversation.
The neuroplastic pain framework is most relevant to chronic pain that has persisted past normal tissue healing timelines, pain that moves or fluctuates in ways that don't map to activity, pain that flares with stress or emotional intensity, and pain where imaging shows little or nothing structural to account for the severity of symptoms.
Common presentations include: chronic back and neck pain, fibromyalgia, migraine, pelvic pain, IBS, chronic fatigue, and many others. This is not a complete list — the nervous system pattern shows up in a lot of places.
It is not the right fit for acute injury recovery, active structural pathology, or conditions that require direct clinical management.
Good — that means you already have a framework and you're not coming in cold. What this container offers that a book or app can't is someone in the room with you: someone who can see your specific pattern, challenge the places where you're getting stuck, and bring 20 years of somatic and clinical experience to the parts that aren't just neuroscience.
Many of the people who get the most from this work have read all the books. They needed a human.
Technically, no. Practically, yes — for most people. The 4-week course is not a prerequisite formality. It's what builds the cognitive and somatic foundation that makes the 12-week container actually land. Without it, we spend the first few sessions covering ground the course handles efficiently.
If you have a strong existing foundation in pain neuroscience and somatic work, we can discuss in your application whether it makes sense to move directly to the container. But the default path is Stage One first.
We spread them across the arc in a rhythm that serves your process — typically one session every 2 weeks, with some clustering at the beginning and end. Between sessions, you have Voxer access for voice message check-ins, and you're working with the practices and observations we've assigned.
The work doesn't just happen in sessions. The sessions are where we orient and integrate. The real work is in the between.

My personal flavor = Connection and Nourishment
As humans, we are wired for connection.
At a primal level, connection is the thing that ensures our survival. If we are accepted by our 'tribe' then we earn protection, food, shelter, resources... we get to live. Connection = safety. If we are ousted by our tribe, we face a barren landscape, foraging for food and water, and ready to battle any other tribe we happen to cross, facing death daily. But in modern times when we lose our sense of connection, our bodies respond as if we are facing death, seeing the world as full of things ready to take us down. But losing connection with our tribe is not the only things that lead us to 'death' whether it be a physical, emotional, or spiritual death...
When we lose connection to:
a deep sense of meaningful work
vitality and what happy health looks and feels like
choice. To freedom. To having a say.
free time, play, balance and peace
heartfelt relationships
authenticity, effervescence and radiant joy
a greater sense of fulfillment
ourselves.
... the world begins to feel unsafe. We begin to shrink, make ourselves smaller so we don't risk being seen by things that are out to get us. We start seeing ordinary things as something to be scared of, every decision analyzed, scrutinized, looked at from every angle to ensure it's a safe bet. Boy, that gets super exhausting. Imagine what you could do with all that freed up energy and mental space!
I help people shed their battle armor, I help them reconnect with the pieces of themselves that have been lost or access the pieces that haven't been allowed to exist yet. You deserve so much more than you've been allowed. One of my favorite people agrees in her Declaration of Deserving. If you're interested in more by this beauty, Danielle LaPorte, I offer her Desire Map Workshop a few times a year, just sayin'.

Coaching Packages
Benefits
Part of the immense value of coaching is in its ability to change your hard-wiring (which is really what most people are actually after). Habits are a malleable thing, and long term coaching really shines at taking less than helpful habits and converting them into natural ways of being that serve you and your dreams. But this process need time and continuous massaging to really take hold. Habits can form in 30 days, but it takes at least 90 to turn them into a lifestyle which is why my packages begin with 3 months... Most people really soar with the 6 months because as we know from watching babies learn to walk, we stumble and fall a few times before it really starts to click and make sense. 12 months is best for those who are going for the whole life makeover approach and would love to have a kind of 'mountain guide' by their side through the growth process and ensure they climb to the top peak like they intended. There's never any pressure or expectation to engage in coaching this way... I just know from experience that some people really prefer this method, so I offer it. If you just want to roll with single sessions as you need them, then please do that! I'm all about you getting your needs met in whatever healthy way that looks for you :)
